Who wants standards that encourage the teaching of fallacy as fact?
From the point of view of science and scientific ethics, where would you rate a set of educational standards that encourages misrepresentation of the nature of science and the teaching of outdated fallacy as fact? One might say that the state s standards did not cause my young friend s teachers to be out-of-date in regard to the appendix, but I would differ. Teachers are intimidated into taking every claim the standards make at face value. Exactly who in this situation is encouraging dogmatism and unscientific acceptance of an unproven belief?
