Who were the Egyptian Gods Isis and Osiris?

0

Isis and Osiris were among the most important and worshiped deities in the Egyptian pantheon. They were husband and wife and loved each other very much. They had a son – Horus whose uncle Set (Osiris’s brother) was very evil. He envied Osiris and wanted to kill him. Set convinced Osiris to go into a coffin as part of some ritual. Then he sealed the coffin and threw it into the river Nile. When Isis found out what happened she got really sad and tried to rescue her husband. He was dead but Thoth (the god of wisdom) managed to help Osiris and made him a ruler of the Afterlife (because of his resurrection).
