Allen C. Guelzo, author of the newest book on this famous political discourse, will offer his insight during a discussion and book signing Monday, February 11, 2008 at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield. The 150th anniversary of the 1858 Debates will be commemorated across the state during 2008. The luncheon and discussion will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. Tickets are $20 each, which includes lunch, and go on sale December 26. They may be purchased at www.alplm.org or by calling (217) 558-8934. The book signing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum Store and is free and open to the public. Copies of Guelzo’s books will be available for purchase. Guelzo is the Henry R. Luce Professor of the Civil War Era, and Director of Civil War Era Studies at Gettysburg College. He is the author of Lincoln and Douglas: The Debates That Defined America (2008)
