Bob Buttafuso of Centreville Electronics in Centreville, Virginia, and Nancy Dearing Rossbacher of Orange, Virginia. Nancy is managing editor of North South Trader’s Civil War, but the listserve is not affiliated with the magazine. This is a service provided free of charge to the collecting community and we are donating what little free time we already didn’t have to maintaining it, so we ask that members abide by the rules, give careful consideration to their words, and have a great time!

The Austin Fire Department is structured to mirror a military hierarchy. The station is a microcosm of that, beginning with perhaps a Probationary Firefighter, other Firefighters, then a Fire Specialist (driver) in charge of the apparatus, then a Lieutenant or Captain in charge of the entire crew. Each area of the city has a Battalion Chief in charge of operations and stations in his or her battalion.

Ira Robbins. I was one of the three founders ofTrouser Pressmagazine and the editor of all of theTrouser Pressbooks. If you care to know more about it, here’s a lengthyonline interviewfor your perusal. Of course, I’m not alone here in cyberspace. The site was built and is maintained by Jim Glauner, one of the folks behind the excellent (but defunct) publicationOculus. The home page was designed by Kristina Juzaitis. A lot of kind people have offered their services to this endeavor, so this section will be updated as we sign up volunteers and put them to work.

Austin CHILDFREE! is run by the members. There is a small group of worker bees who help with administrative duties (such as the webmaster), answer email enquiries and put events on the calendar, but that’s all.

If you live in Sun Valley, or are otherwise concerned with the quality of life there, you’re in charge. The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works is responsible for flood control throughout the county and is taking the lead on the Sun Valley project. However, as members of the Sun Valley Watershed Stakeholders Group, other agencies, elected officials, civic groups, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals are also involved in the decision-making process. The project’s first phase, the preparation of a Watershed Management Plan for Sun Valley, is underway. A consultant team is working to develop several alternative scenarios and to perform public education and outreach tasks. Solid community support will be essential to the successful implementation of the Plan, so we’re looking for your ideas and participation.
