The list keeps growing every day so there is no way to definitively list every open source project and every commercial user. We’d love to hear about each site or company that you know, but we will just list some of the larger and well known open source projects that are using it. For commercial usage, you can access information on CollabNet’s example customers and feel assured that they are commercial users of Subversion. We can say that its commercial usage stretches from financial to government/military/aerospace to telecommunications to retail to entertainment to academic to … you name the sector. As to open source projects, Subversion is used by Apache, KDE, Python, and GCC. It is available from all the major open source project development sites (with the exception of Microsoft’s codeplex site, for obvious reasons) – tigris.org, sourceforge.org, and code.google.com.
