After taking a few videos of my nephew’s recital on my Canon Powershot, I decided to upload them into Geni, Youtube, and Facebook. The only site that I had success uploading the five videos that I took was on Geni.com. Youtube and Facebook kept timing out on me. After a frustrating time trying to upload the videos, I decided to video tape my review of the three sites. This was tested on a Macbook and Dell PC Laptop. Geni.com is an online family tree where people can connect with family members. Families are able to upload pictures and videos, create forums, add name tags to photos, and create events. It’s a private site that only family members can access. Therefore, unlike Youtube and Facebook, one is not able to publish the videos for the world to see. A one minute video took 15 minutes to completely upload. It has a new plugin that functions like Mac applications. One is able to drag and drop to begin the upload.
