Are you apply for jobs that are advertised or just sending out CVs to companies? If the latter, most companies will not accept unsolicited CVs. When they have a position, they hire an external agency to find the person – and that agency is who advertised the position. Your application will be binned. If the jobs are advertised, are you following the instructions and applying to the specific job? A generic application is also ditched as they feel that given you cannot spend an hour or two working on your CV/application why should they give you a chance. As a guide, it should take 2-3 hours to mould your CV, application letter and response to selection criteria per application. 2-3 applications a day (if you are not working) or 1 a day (if working) is all you should be getting through.
