Why are Abraham and Sarah let off with their sins in Genesis?

They weren’t acceptable to God. God told Abraham how He was going to do it, and Abraham did not listen to God, he got impatient and did things his own way, and there were consequences to his sins. Ishmael was the son of FLESH, not of promise. Isaac was the son God promised. God did not make Abraham sin. Now, Abraham and Sarah were literally half brother and sister. Gen.20:12 And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife. Yet, he was wrong in that he failed to mention she was his wife. Sarah was harsh to Hagar. Clearly, there would be tension between two people who have to share a significant other. There was tension between Leah and Rachel. It’s proof that polygamy doens’t work, it is not harmonious, and it wasn’t God’s plan. That’s not to say Sarah was right in any way. Back then they didn’t have the Torah, let alone the Bible.
