Why are animals in Africa poached?
Many reasons exist for poaching animals, more so endangered animals, some of these reasons are: Food, Medicine, Sport, Damaging crops, Attacking people, Just being there. Debatable; the largest reason however is that the animals bring money, a good deal of modern poaching is live capture for private collectors (Illegal). A good deal of modern poaching is actually for food, followed by tradition medicine, and distantly by private collections. The illegal pet trade, while significant, pales in comparison to the poaching of animals for “bush meat”.
