Why are dolphins friendly to humans? And why don wild killer whales eat humans?
With Orca it mainly has to do with the fact that they are in water that is too cold for humans to swim in. Orca are very smart, as are all toothed whales, but they are not going to pass up a easy free meal. With dolphins we are in their water but they are smart enough to know that it is more difficult to eat us. We are very easy to kill, but getting us into bits they can eat is tough. Unlike animals such as sharks or gators they do not shake/shred food that is too large, they instead eat stuff that crumbles with ease or can be eaten whole. It is also slightly disturbing that they kill for fun too. If you ever want to see how vicious dolphins can be, check out video and research on what they do to porpoise. They have been known to hit them so hard and so much that they liquefy the internal organs. Ugh!
