Why are English bulldogs so expensive?
There is a great deal of time, effort and expense involved in raising a Bulldog litter. Without going into too much detail, it can cost $2000-$3000 to breed, deliver and raise a litter. This isn’t factoring in cost for a good quality breeding pair (upwards of $7000 for ONE male and ONE female) Getting the female ready for breeding requires pre-breeding testing, ovulation testing, etc. – approximately 3 trips to the vet. Then the female is usually artificially inseminated, another 3 trips to the vet, not to mention the expense for the semen/stud service which is $600 and up. We also have health tests done on our males and females prior to breeding them. We have spent approximately $9,000 before getting ready for a litter before that had two pups born and that’s not considering the vet costs after birth.
