Why are fee payers funding the costs of financial capability work?
We are proposing to recover the 2007/08 costs of financial capability work through the majority of the fee payers as we believe they (with the exception of the following three fee-blocks – see below) will ultimately benefit from improved financial capability among consumers. The total budgeted costs of £17.1m will be distributed in broadly the same proportion as their contribution to our total annual funding requirement. Please see chapter 11 of CP07/3 for more details.
