I have a temp gauge at the end of my carpet wand temp is 200. you are right you might start at 260 at the machine and it will lose some heat of course the longer the hose the more heat is lost but still at around 200. a clean healty home is best… no the carpet should not be wet for more than a few hours if it is you may have the wrong company. Cleaning agents used to clean carpet help losen the dirt to be extracted. Like anything else its about balance,,,, enought water to clean but not too much. enough cleaning agents to help remove grime, but not to much… the right amount of heat…. I do belive carpet clenaing will help remove dust mites, Remember clean is good… and healty

A. Most use a chemical extraction process. They are really not steam cleaning because the heat delivered at their nozzle is not hot enough after traveling through their long hose. Nozzle heat needs to be at least 130 degrees to kill dust-mites. If it s chemical extraction, you re adding chemicals not removing them. The carpet may remain wet for hours allowing mold to breed and more dust-mites.
