Why Are Negative People Given Such A Hard Time???

I think a lot of what you’re driving at is about balance. Some people block out any stimuli that is not “light and fluffly”, and some people only take in stimuli that is not “light and fluffy”. Dwelling on one to the exclusion of the other is not balanced, and people who do either to the exclusion of the other are not liked much by the other! That said, it’s wrong to characterize someone who takes in some negative stimuli and thinks deeply about it as being negative. It’s a cross “we thinkers” bear, and the best way I’ve found to handle it is to have many “thinker” friends. Sensitivity is a natural, inherited trait that tends to go hand in hand with people who are labeled “negative,” and in the US this trait of sensitivity is in a distinct minority of the population, so it is seen as a defect by many.
