Why are so many people vehemently Anti-Catholic?

In a word; ignorance. That is the reason so many people hate the Catholic Church. People tend not to trust or approve of things they don’t understand. Catholic Doctrine is grossly misunderstood (accidently and deliberately) and these people come to hate fallacies about the church. These people are virtually ignorant, or are ignoring, the Truth about Catholicism. I’ve spoken to enough of these types to know only a fraction of them are honest enough to consider the Truth about Catholicism. The rest are too hateful to consider the Truth. Ironically, they often will invoke Jesus in their hatred of the Church. When did Jesus ever order man to hate his fellow man? Of course He preached love: 1John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and he who loves is born of God and knows God; is just one of many examples of how we are to love, not hate, all our fellow men.
