Why are the earnings release dates on ClearStation and other financial websites all different?

0

Every financial website out there will show a different date. This is the reason: 10Qs must be filed for each of the first three fiscal quarters of the company’s fiscal year and are due within 45 days of the close of the quarter. The company must have a specific date in which the quarter’s books are closed, but they can “release” and “announce” or “file” any of the 45 days after that date. Because companies have 45 days to report, they often change the announced date (for thousands of reasons). This results in financial sites showing different dates; they depend on the sources they use. ClearStation’s source is Zacks Investment Research. The best place to find the most current dates is on each individual company’s Web site. You can find a link to each company’s site in ClearStation’s Profile and Fundamentals section. Further information about earnings release and filing dates are on the SEC site.
