Why are the horses used for polo called ponies? Aren they horses?
There are many term in horses where ponies are called horses – miniature horses, Arabs and Quarter Horses too are always horses. The term Polo Pony stems from years ago when they were ponies that were used for the game and although some are bigger, most are fairly small, and if 15 hands they can still be classed as ponies.
