The Sheffield G8 summit is in preparation for the meeting of G8 leaders at Gleneagles, Scotland, from 6-8 July 2005. David Blunkett, then Home Secretary, volunteered Sheffield to host the meeting saying it would help put Sheffield on the map. The summit will be hosted by the Marriot Hotel in Nether Edge and the Ministers will attend social functions in the city centre.
