Items are shipped to Singapore as I am based in Singapore & the tax is slightly lower for luxury items. In Singapore, GST is incurred @ 7% for items above SG400. Luxury tax in Malaysia is approximately 30%. You would not want your bag that cost RM1,000 to increase to RM1,300 due to additional tax. In this case, its cheaper to get in the coach retail outlets in Malaysia.
