Why are there 4 error sound boxes?
Some errors that your client makes will be represented by more than one symbol. That’s why there are 4 error sound boxes in each row. For example, if your client produced an unaspirated /p/ you would need to select the /p/ symbol and the symbol that represents unaspirated (=). In some cases you will need all 4 error sound boxes to display an error sound group such as a 3 element /s/ blend produced with a vowel (/E/) inserted at the beginning commonly heard in Spanish accented English. Next you will click on the spontaneous count box to indicate that your client has made this error one time. The long white rectangular box is for typing in the context of the error. Make sure you close this window before continuing with other transcription.
