Why are there multiple versions of the ChemDraw CDX files within the Patent Application Data/XML v4.2 ICE and the Patent Grant Data/XML v4.2 ICE?

A CDX files are proprietary to the CS ChemDraw product. Cambridge Software no longer supports ChemDraw version 8 and ChemDraw version 12.0 is the latest supported version. Beginning Tuesday, January 5, 2010 for Patent Grant Data/XML v4.2 ICE and Thursday, January 7, 2010 for Patent Application Data/XML v4.2 ICE ChemDraw v12.0 will be included for CDX files. Throughout calendar year 2010 there will be documents that contain ChemDraw v8 and documents that contain ChemDraw v12.0, with the majority shifting to ChemDraw v12.0 by early 2011.
