Why arent other sugar alcohols used in BRANDS® Birds Nest Sugar Free ?
Most other sugar alcohols (except for Xylitol) are lower in sweetness compared to sugar and have to be included in larger quantities in the product. Xylitol is ideal as it has the same sweetness level as sugar but with one-third fewer calories without any unpleasant aftertaste. Clinical studies have also proven that it prevents dental caries, and when combined with Sorbitol, it can provide a close match to the desired sweet taste.
