The steam path is from front to back on the Statim, not from bottom to top. The size of the chamber dictates that the hand pieces are laid down and if a doctor would like to stand a hand piece up right after completion of a cycle, that would not greatly increase the drying time. After a cycle, the inside and outside of the hand piece will dry in approximately 45 seconds to a minute.
