Why can nuclear energy be classified as a renewable and non-renewable form of energy?

Untill we develop fusion power, and that is a heck of a long way off then nuclear power is ultimately dependent on Uranium which is a finite resource, so this makes it a non-renewable source of energy. Breeder reactors can make plutonium, which can make bombs, but can also be used as power reactor fuel but this still relys on uranium http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breeder_rea… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fast_breede… Nuclear reactors do not generate Carbon Dioxide* in the way fossil fuel generatiion does, so they may be lumped in by the uncritical with clean renewables using wind, wave, solar, or geothermal generation.
