Why cant I enable Hyper-Threading Technology?

0

The OS should be Windows XP or newer. Hyper-Threading Technology does not support Windows 2000, Windows Me or older. We recommend you using Hyper-Threading supported CPU when installing Operating System. You might face the failure in getting Hyper-Threading Technology enabled under following environments: 1. If you had already installed Windows XP with Northwood or older CPU, re-installing Windows XP will be required upon going to replace CPU with Hyper-Threading Technology. 2. If your original operating system is Windows 2000 or older, be sure to format the HDD and re-install Windows XP. Otherwise, you might be unable to enable Hyper-Threading Technology if you upgrade the operating system to Windows XP from Windows 2000 or older directly. If you are not quite sure whether your software supports Hyper-Threading, please disable the Hyper-Threading Technology support in BIOS. Otherwise, it might run very slow. For example, MS Office XP plus or newer version will support Hyper-Threading
