Why do different types of MAJGT events have different age groups?
The MAJGT is designed to play host to the finest players in the nation, with competition levels being the highest offered in the Midwest. To ensure top-level fields and the highest levels of competition while maximizing national exposure to the collegiate golf experience, the MAJGT designed a variety of tournament formats to provide an array of national exposure and challenges. These formats and age divisions allow for juniors to maximize their national exposure while competing against juniors their own age while also allowing for opportunity to compete against all juniors.
