Why do email messages disappear from the Nokia Messaging Client on my device?
It is important to examine the Activity Log for the user to see which direction the deletes are coming from. If deletes are mostly coming from the server, it is likely the issue described here. If deletes are coming mostly from the device, then it is likely not the issue described here. By default, most POP mail readers delete the mail once it is downloaded. If the customer has a mail program configured to periodically download email when the client is running (which the most common email clients, Outlook and Outlook Express, do by default), and the mail settings are at the default configuration of deleting the email after download, it will disappear from the mail server after the mail client downloads it. The next time the Nokia Messaging Service server polls the POP account, it will detect that the message is gone, and update its’ records.
