Why do I get a message saying BOUNCE: Admin request of type /^s*approve/i when I try to send a message to a mailing list?
Quite often, people send Majordomo commands, such as unsubscription requests, to the list itself (e.g. to market- L@majordomo.ucalgary.ca), rather than the administrative address (majordomo@majordomo.ucalgary.ca). If these messages get through to the list, it can be embarrassing for you. Therefore, as a service to users, Majordomo scans every note to see if they contain commands, and returns them to the sender if they do. In this example, it is telling you (rather cryptically, we admit) that it found a line beginning with the word ‘approve,’ which is a Majordomo command. All you need to do is change your note slightly so that the word ‘approve’ is not the first word of a line, and it will be able to get through to the mailing list.
