Why do I get strange drawing behaviour when running 32 bit Eclipse on a 64 bit GTK platform?
A 64 bit Linux OS comes configured by default with 64 bit libraries. If you wish to run the 32 bit version of Eclipse, you must ensure that you have a 32 bit JRE as well as the 32 bit version of the GTK libraries. Red Hat bundles the 32 bit libraries in their installer under the “Compatibility Arch Support” package.
