Why do I need LibUSB?

0

LibUSB is needed to access the divecomputer interface hardware through the OS. Since it is not (legally) possible to redistribute the original driver, a new driver had to be developed. However, it is VERY time consuming to develop STABLE device for many platforms. LibUSB is a generice USB device driver which can be used for many USB devices. LibUSB is available for both Windows, Linux and MacOSX and has already proven to be stable under these platforms. It performs just as well as the original driver, although this driver can only be used by our download software.
