Why do indoor pets need vaccinations?

0

Indoor pets may need certain vaccinations based on there risk levels of certain diseases. Many diseases can be spread by humans inadvertantly, on clothing, shoes, and if we’ve pet other animals and then pet our own animals. There are very few animals that are strictly indoors without ever any exposure to the disease and other animals that are outside. Even if just going outside to potty your pet may be exposed to an area where a raccoon, skunk,or even a mouse has previously urinated, thus exposing them to leptosporosis. Also we do recommend all animals be on heartworm prevention during our mosquito season, even indoor dogs. The mosquitos that spread this disease don’t respect our boundaries, and they come in through open doors and windows to bite and possibly infect indoor pets.
