Why do so many people wait until the last minute to file their taxes?
Who wants to really do something like taxes, especially if you have to pay! We just sent our in yesterday, electronically AND through the mail as we had to send a check with it, too…..sigh…. I had all the info into our accountant several weeks ago, but didn’t get the call to pick them up till yesterday morning. So, we really had no choice but to mail them yesterday. It was only mid-afternoon, and we live in a small town so it was easy to just drop them in the mail without waiting. It’s not so bad if you are just doing your regular taxes, but when you have a home business or anything else that requires a lot of forms and stuff it’s a real pain. I couldn’t do it without the accountant! So that puts us on HIS schedule, not our own. Maybe some others are in the same situation. Maybe I could do the Turbo Tax thing (and save a lot on preparation fees!) but I would then have to be the one to do it and if I made a mistake and ended up being audited–Yikes!
