Little girls like it too. It’s a way to have a safe space with your friends (and only the friends you REALLY like!) where the parents can’t hear you and there isn’t anyone to tell you that your plans are silly or won’t work. By being in a little secret club, you and your friends are in a situation where you’re among your peers who all share the same interests that you have and no one is terribly likely to want to beat anyone else up. You know that you always have solidarity in the friendships. It’s comforting.
