Why do teens get arrested for running away if they will be sad at home?
The answer is not simple. For centuries, nearly all parents had their children’s best interest at heart and abuse was the exception. Children also had more respect for parents. Thus, most of the time life was better at home than away. That is not always true, but usually. Because teens don’t know nearly what they think they do, running away is very dangerous. Even now, life is usually better at home than elsewhere, especially on the street. If youngsters are unhappy at home, before running away, it is usually good for both parents and kids to work at improving the situation.
