Why do test strips have different codes?
When the test strip membrane is manufactured, the material is run through a chemical bath. Absorption of the chemical is not completely uniform. Each membrane group is tested and coded according to the exact level of chemicals it contains. Coding the meter to match the test strip is necessary to obtain accurate test results.
