Why do the Green Garden Waste collections stop during December and January?

0

The amount of garden waste likely to be presented for collection during this period means that it not worth running the scheme during the depths of winter. Instead, we divert the collection resources to support the other Waste Collection Services during the busy Christmas period. Collections stop at the end of the week before Chrismas, and resume after a gap of 4 weeks. We will collect additional bags of household waste on the first collection after Christmas. Don’t forget we will collect any extra Recycling you put out (provided it is not in black bags).
