Why do the plaintext characters not match the position of the ciphertext characters they replace?
There are two reasons why you may be experiencing this. If the font your JRE is using as Monospaced does not have a uniform size for every character (including the space character) the plaintext may seem shifted, to fix this read the answer to the previous question. The other reason you may be experiencing this, is if you are using characters from a language that is written from right to left (like Hebrew or Arabic). As of this moment there is no workaround that I know of. Since I do not speak any of those languages, it is difficult for me to track down the problem.
