Why do young people join youth culture?

0

Most young people are searching for an identity for themselves and believe that they will find a suitable identity amongst people of their own age as they find it easier to understand people of their own age. This is really part of following a fashion. Remember that fashion does not just apply to clothes it also applies to ideas and beliefs. Some people would consider this as ‘following the herd’, just doing the same as other people do, but you have to start somewhere to find yourself and your own particular identity and joining ‘youth culture’ is part of that. There are of course some young people who do not ‘follow the herd’ and some who do for a time, but then find own particular path to self enlightenment.
