WHY DOES A SPECIAL COIL HAVE TO BE USED WITH A DWELL CONTROL SYSTEM?

0

Since Dwell Control eliminates the problem of excess charge time at low rpm a much higher energy coil can be used. Typically a coil that triples the ignition energy can be used. Since there is no fall off in energy with rpm, the output energy at high rpm (where you need all the ignition you can get) is five to six times that of a system without dwell control!!
