Why does my 30 year old boyfriend have such young friends? Is this normal?
My ex-husband hangs out with people almost ten years younger than him. When we were married, it didn’t bother me too much because I am six years younger than him… they weren’t much younger than I… and it balanced out because quite a few of my friends were older than my husband. However, being older now, I think there is something wrong with it. I believe that (some) people hang out with a much younger crowd because they don’t fit in with people their age. That simply means that they are not mature enough, or socially adept to mingle with those their own age. Yet, it is somewhat easy to make friends with and entertain those that are a lot younger. Saying that ALL of his friends are younger sends up a red flag for me. In my case, I don’t know that my ex ever matured. He still exhibits “young” behaviors and irresponsible actions.
