Why does my fish tank water keep going cloudy?
What is happening is when you “clean out” the tank you just destroyed all the beneficial bacteria that took your tank months to create. Fish cannot just live in water. What is clean for you and me isn’t for fish. This beneficial bacteria need s to build and be maintained in the tank for your fish’s health. It needs to go somewhere. The bacteria breaks down the waste and turns it from toxic ammonia to a less toxic nitrate.
