Why does the Artist system force limitations on bit rate and ID3 tags?

0

The Artist system is tightly linked with VS-Planet Radio (VSPR). The VSPR system requires that all songs be MP3 encoded at 128kbs. Also, the Charting and Tracking systems that are part of VSPR require an Artist Name and Song Name to be ID3-tagged with the song. Requiring the artist to enter this information in the ID3 tags is now a requirement in order to upload the song to the Artist Page.
