Why does the Crucible cause John Proctor to change?

0

John Proctor changed because he saw corruption so profound that he realized that his sins were nothing compared to the sins of supposedly “holy” people like Rev. Parris. Also, Proctor finally came to the realization that unlike some of the corrupted townspeople, he knows he has done wrong, and is willing to compensate for his sins. In addition, losing his wife to accusations of witchcraft made Proctor realize just how important his family, and his wife is to him, and his wife’s time in jail caused her to rethink her ways, and attempt to get closer to Proctor. Hope this made sense!
