We don’t. The purpose of CUAllies is to create a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment within the Catholic University of America community. There are some issues that are generally thought to be associated with GLBTQ groups, but we have made the decision, as a group, to focus only on creating a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment and not to take a stance on issues that do not directly effect that goal. We respect and encourage our members to think for themselves and develop their own opinions. While we as a group do not take a stance on some issues, we believe that it is positive and beneficial for us to create an environment in which our members feel welcomed to express themselves and their views. We welcome anyone into our group who is interested in creating a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment at CUA for GLBTQ people and their allies, regardless of other views.
