Slowness in the GUI can probably be attributed to either a slow connection to the Qube (bandwidth) or more likely, there is something going on in the Qube that really slows things down. One other way to check is simply have a command line connection running the top command open while you navigate around. This should show you the problem. Pay attention to % of CPU available and also how much virtual memory you are using. I have found that my Qube runs much faster after a cheap RAM uprade.
