A momentary flash of the VirusScan splash screen is an indication that the program has downloaded virus definition updates and is restarting. It is not evidence of any problem, nor evidence that you have a virus. McAfee releases weekly virus definition updates to ensure that you are fully protected against viruses. UWM’s customized version of VirusScan is set to automatically check for updates. If an update is available and a connection to the Internet exists, VirusScan will automatically download the update, shut down the virus scanning software, and restart.
