Why does YOSO soy yogurt contain the following ingredients?
Dextrose: Dextrose is basically a simple sugar found in our bloodstream and serves as the body’s main source of energy for the support of our daily activities. Also known as grape sugar, dextrose is only around ¾ of the sweetness of white table sugar (sucrose). We use dextrose to enhance the fruit note in our strawberry and blueberry soy yogurts. We also use dextrose to bring up the natural vanilla flavor in our vanilla soy yogurt to minimize a heavy sweet aftertaste. Fructose: Naturally found in honey, fructose is about 1.7 times sweeter than table sugar (sucrose). In addition, fructose and sucrose share the same “food energy value” at the level of 4 kilo calories per gram of sucrose or fructose. To minimize the kcaloric value for each serving of YOSO soy yogurts, we select fructose as a predominant sweetener of our soy yogurts simply because we can sweeten our yogurts at a usage level lower compared to other sweeteners (sucrose).
