Why doesn AFSPA just leave a voice mail on my answering machine, either at home or in the office?
AFSPA adheres to the HIPAA Privacy Rules when communicating health benefits and leaving a message at work or at a Provider’s location is not acceptable since other people including your employer may listen to that message. To reasonably safeguard and protect your privacy AFSPA limits the amount of information disclosed on any answering machine. This means we would frequently request you to call back so we can talk to you directly. To avoid this time delay and provide you with the best service possible we have created AFSPAConnect to permit timely communication via a secure site at a time that is convenient for you. We urge you to use this feature and service for your privacy and security.
