Why doesnt seafloor spreading create a subduction zone or a continental collision?

0

The spreading of the seafloor is a divergent boundary, so no subduction zone can happen in that particular area. However, on the other side of the plate it’s very possible. And as far as a continental collision, it will happen again, but not for millions if not billions of years from now.
