Why doesn the camp use a first come, first serve registration?

A first come, first serve didn’t allow for individuals that may not have heard that our registration opened on a specific date, and thus, they would be penalized for that. We leave our registration open for at least 6 weeks so that the word can get out and everyone has a chance to register. We do close our registration on the last day listed.
